Community Guidelines

Last updated: October 7, 2026

A lot of us came here after years of being told what to wear, think, and drink. So we will keep the rules short. They exist for one reason: so that people who are leaving, have left, or are just asking questions can do that safely, without being hunted, outed, recruited, or harassed.

These guidelines are part of our Terms of Service. They apply everywhere on MoNomo: profiles, messages, comments, events, groups, images, and the Vent area. They also apply at MoNomo events and meetups.

1.Adults only

In short: 18 or older, honestly.

Everyone on MoNomo must be 18 or older. Singles events are 18 and over, and "Drinks" events are 21 and over (venues check ID). Lying about your age gets your account removed. If you believe someone on MoNomo is under 18, report them.

2.No harassment

In short: criticize ideas and institutions all you want. Leave people alone.

Do not target, bully, mock, pile on, or repeatedly contact anyone who has made it clear they do not want to hear from you. This includes believers. Faithful members, family members, and people who are still figuring it out are people, and they are not fair game. Criticizing the church, its leaders' public actions, or its teachings is fine. Attacking a specific person for their beliefs is not.

If someone blocks you, that is the end of the conversation. Do not try to reach them through another account, a group, an event, or a friend.

3.No outing anyone

In short: what someone shares here is theirs to share elsewhere, not yours.

Do not reveal anyone's faith status, doubts, sexuality, gender identity, or anything else personal to people outside MoNomo, including their family, ward, bishop, employer, or school. Do not post screenshots of other members' profiles, messages, or posts outside MoNomo. Do not confirm that someone is a member. For a lot of people here, being outed can cost them a marriage, a job, or their relationship with their family. Outing someone will usually get you banned.

4.No recruiting

In short: do not use MoNomo to sell anyone on anything.

No proselytizing for any church, including the one most of us left, and no bringing people back. No MLM pitches, "business opportunities," coaching funnels, political campaigns, or paid programs. Sharing that something helped you is fine. Hunting members for converts, customers, or downlines is not.

In short: ask, accept the answer, move on.

6.No hate

In short: no attacking people for who they are.

Do not attack, demean, or dehumanize people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion (including current or former faith), sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or age. No slurs aimed at people, no hateful symbols, and no content that praises or promotes violence against a group.

7.No threats or doxxing

In short: no threats, no posting people's private information.

Do not threaten anyone with violence or harm, including as a "joke." Do not encourage anyone to hurt themselves. Do not post anyone's home address, phone number, workplace, family details, or other private information, or help someone find it. Threats of violence may be reported to law enforcement.

If you are struggling yourself, please reach out: in the US, call or text 988 any time. In an emergency, call 911.

8.Nothing involving minors

In short: zero tolerance.

No one under 18 is allowed on MoNomo, at all. Any sexual content involving minors, any sexualization of minors, and any attempt to contact or meet a minor for sexual purposes will result in an immediate permanent ban and a report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to law enforcement, as required by law.

9.No spam or scams

In short: no junk, no cons, no asking strangers for money.

No repetitive posts, mass messages, fake events, link farms, or bots. No asking members for money, gift cards, crypto, or financial details. No phishing, fake giveaways, or romance scams. If someone you have not met asks you for money, report them.

10.No impersonation

In short: be yourself, not someone else.

Do not pretend to be another person, a MoNomo administrator, or a representative of any organization. Do not use someone else's photos. Using a nickname or leaving your profile sparse for privacy is fine. Pretending to be a specific real person is not. Parody accounts are not allowed.

11.Disagree like adults

In short: there is no one right way to leave.

People here are at different points. Some are atheists, some found another faith, some still attend for family, some are not sure yet. Nobody here is doing it wrong. Argue with ideas, not with people. Do not gatekeep who counts as "out enough." Content warnings help when you post about abuse, trauma, or other heavy topics. The Vent area is for venting, so give people room there, and keep it about experiences and institutions, not about attacking specific members.

12.When you report

In short: reports are confidential, a human reviews them, and blocking is instant.

13.What moderators can do

In short: the response fits the problem.

MoNomo administrators can:

We usually start small for minor or first-time problems. Some things skip straight to a ban: anything involving minors, threats, outing someone, sharing intimate images without consent, scams, and evading a previous ban. Conduct at in-person events and conduct toward members off MoNomo can count too, if it affects members' safety. We may also share information with law enforcement where the law requires it or someone's safety is at risk.

14.Group leaders

In short: leaders can run their group, within these rules.

Anyone who starts a group (a meetup, club, or other group) is its leader. Leaders can:

Leaders cannot remove content outside their group, suspend accounts, or see private messages. Leaders are members, not MoNomo staff, and they must follow these guidelines too, including not using their role to harass or out anyone. If a leader is abusing their role, report the group. Administrators can override a leader's decision, remove a leader, or remove a group.

Being removed from a group is the leader's call, and it is not usually something we will reverse unless it breaks these guidelines.

15.Appeals

In short: if you think we got it wrong, email us.

If your content was removed or your account was warned, suspended, or banned, and you think it was a mistake, email support@knightdevelopers.com with the subject line "Appeal." Include your username, what happened, and why you think the decision was wrong. A person will review it. Please be honest and brief. We will try to respond within a reasonable time, but during the test we cannot promise a specific deadline.

Final decisions are ours. Creating a new account to get around a suspension or ban will get the new account banned too.

These guidelines are a draft for a private test and will change as the community grows. If something here is unclear or missing, tell us.
