Draft for a private test. Not yet reviewed by a lawyer.
Terms of Service
Last updated: October 7, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Knight Developers about using MoNomo. They are in plain English, and they are still a contract. (Yes, we know. Nobody reads these. Be the exception.)
1.Accepting these terms
In short: if you use MoNomo, you agree to these terms, the Community Guidelines, and the Privacy Policy.
MoNomo is a community app and website for people who have left, are leaving, or are questioning the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It is operated by Knight Developers ("we," "us," "our"), a small studio based in Utah, USA. "MoNomo" or "the service" means the website at monomo.knightdevelopers.com, our mobile apps once released, and everything offered through them.
By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms of Service, our Community Guidelines, and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use MoNomo.
MoNomo is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
2.Who can use MoNomo
In short: adults only, one account per person, and tell the truth about your age.
- You must be at least 18 years old. MoNomo is for adults only. There are no exceptions, including with a parent's permission.
- Your age must be true. Right now, you declare your age when you sign up. We plan to add stronger age verification and may ask you to complete it to keep using the service. Lying about your age is a serious violation and will get your account removed.
- Some events have higher age limits. Singles events are 18 and over. "Drinks" events are 21 and over, and venues check ID. Our age limits do not replace a venue's own rules or the law.
- One account per person. Do not create accounts for other people, share an account, or create a new account after we have suspended or banned you.
3.Private test and approval
In short: MoNomo is an early test. Things will break, change, or disappear, and an administrator approves every account.
MoNomo is currently in a private test with a small group of people. Anyone can sign up, but your account does not work until an administrator approves it. We may approve or decline any signup at our discretion, and we do not have to explain why.
Because this is a test, features may be incomplete, buggy, changed, or removed without notice. Content labeled as demo or sample is exactly that. Data may occasionally be lost, so keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose. We may pause or end the test, or the whole service, at any time.
MoNomo is free. There are no ads and we do not sell your data. If we ever add paid features, we will tell you first, and nothing paid will apply to you unless you choose it.
4.Your account
In short: keep your login safe, keep your information honest, and tell us if something looks wrong.
- Give accurate information when you sign up and keep it reasonably current.
- Keep your password and login methods private. You are responsible for what happens under your account unless it was caused by our own failure.
- Tell us right away at the contact address below if you think someone else has accessed your account.
- You can stop using MoNomo at any time. You can ask us to delete your account. How we handle your data after deletion is covered in the Privacy Policy.
5.Your content
In short: you own what you post. You give us permission to store and show it so the app works. You are responsible for what you post.
You own it
"Your content" means anything you put into MoNomo: your profile (name, pronouns, city, mission served, bio, hobbies, interests, prompts, photo), messages, comments, events, groups, images, Vent posts, journal entries, and anything else you submit. You keep ownership of your content.
The permission you give us
So we can run the service, you give Knight Developers a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, back up, display, and transmit your content, only as needed to operate, secure, and improve MoNomo and to show your content to the people you chose to share it with. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for backup copies kept for a limited time, content we must keep for legal reasons or to handle a report, and content you shared with others (such as messages) that remains in their copies.
We will not sell your content or use it for advertising.
Your private journal and Vent
Your journal is private to you. It is synced to our servers as a backup, so it is stored by us, and it is not end-to-end encrypted unless we tell you otherwise. The Privacy Policy explains who can access stored data and when.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for your content and for having the right to post it, including other people's photos, messages, or personal information. Do not post content that breaks the law or our Community Guidelines.
We do not pre-screen everything posted on MoNomo and we are not responsible for content posted by users. We may remove any content at our discretion.
6.Rules of conduct
In short: follow the Community Guidelines, and do not attack the service itself.
You agree to follow our Community Guidelines, which are part of these terms. They cover harassment, outing, recruiting, consent, hate, threats, doxxing, sexual content, spam, scams, and impersonation.
You also agree not to:
- Break any law while using MoNomo, or use it to help someone else break one.
- Scrape, harvest, or bulk-collect data or profiles from the service, by any means.
- Access accounts, data, or parts of the system you are not authorized to access, or probe, scan, or test our security without written permission.
- Interfere with the service, including by overloading it, introducing malware, or bypassing blocks, bans, rate limits, or age gates.
- Use the service to advertise or solicit, or run bots or automated accounts, without our written permission.
7.Safety and meeting people
In short: we do not run background checks on anyone. Meet in public, tell a friend, and use your own judgment.
MoNomo does not conduct criminal background checks or identity verification on its members. An approved account means an administrator let the account in. It does not mean we have verified who the person is, their age, their history, or their intentions.
MoNomo lets you message people and attend events and group meetups in person. If you choose to meet anyone you found through MoNomo:
- Meet in a public place, and arrange your own transportation.
- Tell a friend or family member where you are going, who you are meeting, and when you expect to be back.
- Do not share your home address, financial information, or other sensitive details with people you do not know well.
- Leave if you feel unsafe. You never owe anyone your time.
- Read our in-app Safety guide.
The map in MoNomo shows approximate public meeting places, not exact locations and never homes. Event details, venues, and times are provided by the users who create them. We do not inspect venues, supervise events, or confirm that events happen as described.
You are responsible for your own interactions with other members, online and offline. We are not responsible for the conduct of any member, at an event or anywhere else. If someone harms you, contact local law enforcement, and please also report the person to us so we can act on their account. In an emergency, call 911.
8.Reports, moderation, and termination
In short: you can report things, an admin reviews reports, and we can remove content or accounts when the rules are broken.
Blocking and reporting
You can block any member. Blocking is silent: the other person is not notified. You can report users, comments, images, articles, and groups. Reports are reviewed by MoNomo administrators. We aim to review reports promptly, but during the test we are a small team and cannot promise a response time. Making false or bad-faith reports is itself a violation.
What we can do
We may, at our discretion and with or without notice:
- remove or hide content;
- warn you;
- limit features on your account;
- suspend your account for a period of time; or
- permanently ban your account.
We try to act fairly and in proportion, but we are not obligated to take any particular action on a report. We may act on conduct off MoNomo if it affects members' safety, and we may preserve content and share information with law enforcement where the law requires it or someone's safety is at risk.
Group leaders
People who start or lead a group can remove and block members from that group. Leaders are members, not our employees or agents. They must follow the Community Guidelines too, and we can override them.
Appeals
If you think we got a moderation decision wrong, email us at the contact address below. The Community Guidelines explain how.
Ending this agreement
You can stop using MoNomo at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, for violating these terms or for any other reason, including ending the test. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, and governing law) will survive.
9.Third-party links and content
In short: we link to outside resources and news. We do not write them or vouch for them.
MoNomo links to third-party websites, organizations, resources, and news articles. We do not write, control, or endorse outside content, and a link is not a recommendation. Outside sites have their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content, products, services, or anything that happens there.
10.Our property and copyright complaints
In short: do not copy the app. If someone posted your copyrighted work without permission, tell us and we will look at it.
Our property
The MoNomo name, logo, design, software, and the content we create belong to Knight Developers or our licensors. We give you a personal, limited, non-transferable, revocable permission to use the service as intended. You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the service except as the law allows. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of our property to you.
Feedback
If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without owing you anything.
Copyright complaints
If you believe content on MoNomo infringes your copyright, send a notice to support@knightdevelopers.com with the subject line "Copyright notice" and include:
- your name and contact information;
- a description of the copyrighted work you believe is infringed;
- where the material is on MoNomo (a link or enough detail for us to find it);
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
- a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner; and
- your physical or electronic signature.
We may remove the material and notify the person who posted it. If your content was removed and you believe it was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same address. We may terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.
11.Not professional advice
In short: MoNomo is a community, not a therapist, lawyer, or doctor. If you are in crisis, call or text 988.
MoNomo, including the Vent area, journal, quizzes, resources, articles, and anything other members say, is for community and general information only. It is not therapy, counseling, medical advice, legal advice, or any other professional service, and it does not create a professional relationship with anyone. For decisions about your health, mental health, legal situation, or finances, talk to a qualified professional.
If you are thinking about suicide or self-harm, or you are in crisis: in the United States, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), any time. If you are in immediate danger, call 911. Outside the US, contact your local emergency number or a local crisis line. MoNomo administrators do not monitor content in real time and cannot respond to emergencies.
12.Disclaimers
In short: the service is provided as-is, especially during a test.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MoNomo is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that data will never be lost. We make no promises about the identity, age, behavior, or intentions of any member, or the accuracy of content posted by members or third parties.
13.Limitation of liability
In short: if something goes wrong, our liability is limited as far as the law allows.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Knight Developers and its owners, employees, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, goodwill, or opportunity, arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) MoNomo, the conduct of any member or third party online or offline, or any content on or linked from the service, even if we were told such damages were possible.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to MoNomo is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) one hundred US dollars (US$100). The service is currently free.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, such as liability for gross negligence or willful misconduct where the law does not allow it to be excluded.
14.Indemnity
In short: if your conduct gets us sued, you cover it.
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Knight Developers and its owners, employees, and contractors from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your content, your use of MoNomo, your conduct toward other members (online or offline), or your violation of these terms or of anyone's rights.
15.Governing law and disputes
In short: Utah law applies. Talk to us first, and most things can be sorted out by email.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Before filing any claim, you agree to contact us first and try to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days. If it is not resolved, any legal action must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Utah, and you and we consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these terms; we may transfer ours as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of the service. These terms, the Community Guidelines, and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about MoNomo.
16.Changes to these terms
In short: we will update these terms as MoNomo grows, and we will tell you about big changes.
We will change these terms as the service develops, especially when the test ends and the mobile apps launch. For a material change, we will update the date at the top and notify you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using MoNomo after that, you accept the new terms. If you do not, stop using the service and you may ask us to delete your account.
17.Contact
In short: email us.
